Exploring perception and the layered truths we carry, A THOUSAND CHURCHES depicts a tribal woman emerging through the fractured glow of stained glass, symbolizing the multiple versions of self that exist in the eyes of others. Do we tell our true story, or do we retreat behind the safe distortions of perspective? Is beauty more profound when seen through the fractured light of stained glass, or when revealed in its raw, authentic form? This work challenges the viewer to consider whether more religion strengthens a culture or leads it to forget the importance of worshiping itself.
